Nearly three months into the Project and the school is coming into construction. The community´s expectation is high and Professora Odete is anxious for starting lessons in the brand new school.

Estimated completion date is March 2010, as the builder moves now in to the more time consuming stage of adding windows, cementing walls and building the roof.

The community has been very active in supplying us with their bricks, and they are now preparing to burn another set of bricks. Unfortunately the bricks are quite brittle so a high amount of cement will be required.

Two young boys from the community always join in helping the school to grow faster, as if to say “this is our school too”

There has been an incredible effort from the community to help and in particular from the school´s director, Sr Alberto, who is the real driving force behind this school.
